UPS
Overview
ShipScience requires a UPS login with access to:
- Billing Center & Reporting — to retrieve invoices
- Claims — to file and manage claims
You can use an existing UPS login, but creating a dedicated login for ShipScience is recommended. Skip to "Step 2" if using existing account, but need to add additional permissions.
Creating a Dedicated UPS Login for ShipScience
Complete the following three parts in order. Part 2 requires confirmation from ShipScience before proceeding.
Create a Dedicated User (Admin Account Required)
Step 1: Log in to UPS as an Administrator.
Step 2: Click Account (top right) and select Quantum View Administration.
Step 3: Click Create User and fill in the details below.
Contact Information
- Address — must match your company information.
- Name — can be generic (e.g., "ShipScience Claims").
User ID
- Must be unique. Use a format like:
company_ss_claims
Email Address
Use the email generated in the ShipScience portal. To get it:
- Navigate to Data Sources.
- Click Add Account.
- Click Generate Credentials for 2FA.
- Copy the generated email — it will look like:
[email protected]
Use this email when creating the UPS account.
User Access
- Grant Claims Access.
Grant Account Number Claims Access
Complete this step only after ShipScience confirms the account has been connected.
Step 1: Log in to UPS as an Administrator.
Step 2: Go to Quantum View Administration.
Step 3: Click Search for a User and locate the User ID you created in Part 1.
Step 4: Click Manage User Services.
Step 5: Select Claims → Edit.
Step 6: Select All Accounts and click Update.
Grant Billing Center Access
Step 1: Log in to the UPS Billing Center as an Administrator.
Step 2: In the left panel under Administrator, click Manage Users.
Step 3: Click Add New User.
Step 4: Enter the User ID and email address you created in Part 1.
Step 5: Select the role: View, Pay, Dispute.
This role allows ShipScience to view invoices, automatically file disputes, and process refunds.
