USPS
Overview
ShipScience downloads USPS invoice files daily from your PC Postage provider (the service you use to purchase USPS labels). Claims are filed directly with USPS through a separate usps.com account.
Setup requires two things:
- Invoice ingestion — credentials for your PC Postage provider so ShipScience can pull daily invoice data.
- Claims filing — a usps.com login configured for your business so ShipScience can file claims, upload evidence, and track claim status.
Invoice Ingestion
Provide credentials for the PC Postage provider you use to buy USPS labels. The required credentials depend on your provider:
| Provider | Credentials Needed |
|---|---|
| EasyPost | Account API credentials |
| Endicia / Stamps.com | Login + password |
| Pitney Bowes | Login + password |
| USPS Direct / USPS Ship | Login + password |
Enter these credentials in the ShipScience portal under Data Sources.
Tracking
ShipScience currently retrieves tracking updates directly from USPS.
In April 2026, USPS will discontinue this direct tracking service. After that date, client-specific tracking will need to be configured. ShipScience will reach out with setup instructions before the change takes effect.
Claims Filing
USPS claims are filed directly through usps.com — not through your PC Postage provider. ShipScience requires a dedicated usps.com login for your business with permissions to:
- File new claims
- Upload supporting evidence
- Track claim status
Provide these usps.com credentials separately from your invoice ingestion credentials above.
